Low-jitter GPS-locked precision frequency reference
450 Hz to 800 MHz output
This device outputs two synchronised low-jitter reference clocks locked to GPS signal.
Long term stability of output signal is defined by high accuracy of GPS Caesium references and theoretically approaches 1x10-12.
Short term signal quality is defined by internal TCXO clock source providing high-quality, low phase noise clock signal with sub-picosecond RMS jitter.
Digital PLL allows main output reference frequency to have almost any value between 450Hz and 800MHz.
The second output frequency depends on the first output due to a common internal clock, if you need individual flexibility, multiple mini GPS units may be a better choice. If both outputs have the same frequency their relative phase shift can be adjusted. This can be used, for example, to generate two signals with 90° phase shift for use in I/Q mixer.
Both output signals square wave at 3.3V CMOS levels with 50 Ohms characteristic impedance with 2 BNC connectors. Their output drive levels can be adjusted and outputs can be enabled and disabled independently.
Output power level (measured at 10MHz, fundamental power channel):
+13.3dBm, drive setting 32mA
+12.7dBm, drive setting 24mA
+11.4dBm, drive setting 16mA
+7.7dBm, drive setting 8mA
The device comes with USB cable and an active GPS antennna with magnetic base.
Operation requires continuous presence of GPS signal, however temporary loss will be tolerated seamlessly. Active or passive antennas are supported. An active antenna with 5 metre cable is provided with the device but can be substituted if necessary. GPS acquisition time after power-up is around 30 seconds. If GPS signal is lost, digital PLL will maintains best estimated output frequency based on historical data. On reacquisition of GPS lock, output is seamlessly brought back in sync with GPS reference. Entry and exit of frequency hold is glitch-less.
All frequency and output settings are fully user-configurable via USB connection from Windows PC.
GPS clock can be powered from USB input and/or external 5-12VDC power input. The DC connector parameters are: 2.5mm for the pin and 5.5mm on the outer diameter. USB connection to Windows PC is required only for one-off configuration. All settings are stored inside the device and maintain values when off. The SMA antenna connector voltage is 3.3V. Most active antennas have a wide range voltage input (2.5v to 5v) as they have an analogue LNA inside that is not sensitive to power level. -125 dBc/Hz at 100 Hz
-143 dBc/Hz at 1 kHz
-150 dBc/Hz at 10 kHz
-152 dBc/Hz at 100 kHz
-155 dBc/Hz at 1 MHz
Power draw through USB is 250mA

Shipping & Returns
Ordering from the EU
We have recently started shipping orders from a partner company in the EU; SkunkRF who are located in France. This will mean that you will pay import VAT at checkout instead of on import, reducing fees and vastly reducing shipping times. For companies in the EU with a valid EU VAT number, please contact support@leobodnar.com in advance so we can set up your account for 0% VAT orders.
Tracked International Mail (Airmail)
Web orders are processed every working day. Orders are shipped with FedEx International Connect, this method is significantly slower than FedEx Express. Please use FedEx Express when orders are urgent.
UPS and FedEx shipping as usual
At the moment, UPS or FedEx courier delivery are the best options to guarantee a reliable delivery of your order.
Import Charges
We are located and are shipping from the UK and the EU. Shipping to any country not in the UK or EU is subject to import duties and taxes, please make sure you are aware of these before ordering.
The vast majority of orders are dispatched within 1 working day, however large orders or items which require manual assembly may take slightly longer. We will usually inform you if this happens.
International Shipping
Orders to destinations outside the United Kingdom are dispatched via tracked Airmail, UPS or FedEx. You can select your shipping option at the checkout page - click the Estimate Shipping button in the shopping cart to view the shipping option costs. Shipping cost depends on the total weight of the goods.
Orders over £100 and heavy items may only be sent via FedEx.

Europe
- Airmail: 10-14 working days after dispatch. Up to four weeks for some countries. There is basic tracking available.
- UPS: 1-3 working days
- FedEx: 1-3 working days
USA and the rest of the world
- Airmail: 14-28 working days. Please allow extra time to clear customs*.
- UPS: 1-5 working days
- FedEx: 1-5 working days
*For international orders outside Europe this can take up to 7 additional days. Total delivery time can be up to a month. Thank you for being patient.

You are responsible for any VAT, tariffs, duty and other fees required by your country for importing consumer goods unless explicitly identified at checkout. There is no way for us, Leo Bodnar Electronics (the shipper) to predict your country's customs/fee habits, so be prepared to pay full VAT on the fully declared value of your order as well as any customs fees your countries FedEx and/or postal system may charge you. Invoices may be required by your local customs office or for FedEx. If you decide not to pay costs required by your customs - we cannot issue any refunds.
UK Shipping
Orders sent in the UK are dispatched via Royal Mail (First Class) or next day courier (UPS). You can select your shipping option at the checkout page. Click the 'Estimate Shipping' button in the shopping cart to view the shipping cost options for your order. Orders over £100 will be sent via tracked UPS courier.
UK Delivery Times
- Standard Delivery (Royal Mail First Class) - 2-4 Working Days
- Next day courier (UPS) - 1 Working Day (Cut off time is 12pm)
If order has not been received within these times, please contact us. For international orders it sometimes happens that local post office in destination country holds goods without notifying either the customer or us. In this case, it may be necessary to contact your local post service of courier depot for more information.

Returns
If you are not entirely satisfied with your purchase, we're here to help.
Please inform us within two weeks from the date you received it if you wish to return an item. You do not even have to give a reason although it would be helpful if you could to help us improve our services. You will then have a further 14 days to return the goods once we have been informed. To be eligible for a return your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. Your item must be in the original packaging. Your item needs to have the receipt or proof of purchase.
Refunds
Once we receive your item, we will notify you that we have received your returned item. We will immediately notify you on the status of your refund. If your return is reasonable, we will initiate a refund. You will receive the credit within a few days, depending on your card issuer's policies.
Warranty and Repairs

Do you ship internationally?
Yes, the majority of Europe, Asia, Africa, North and South America.
Ordering from the EU: We work with a shipping company - SkunkRF - who are located in France. How do I receive a quote for an invoice?
Orders for invoices can be placed by either email or on the phone. Please note that unless an order is in excess of £1000, we request that you use our web shop.
How quickly will my order be dispatched?
The processing of your order- Most of our orders are processed and shipped within one working day. However, for large orders or those that require individual assembly may require longer.
